Lou Callister is a founder of the Salt Lake Law Firm of Callister Nebeker & McCullough where he is currently of Counsel and Chairman Emeritus. Lou has specialized in banking and finance law for over 46 years and is listed in Best Lawyers in America with a special designation for being listed for 10 years or more. Prior to joining the firm, Lou served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah.
Lou has served on several corporate boards including American Stores; Goldman Sachs Bank, USA; The Lockhart Co.; Premium Oil Co.; and State Savings & Loan.
Lou has also served on many non-profit and community boards including University of Utah Board of Trustees (Vice Chairman), University of Utah Hospital, LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City Board of Adjustments (Vice Chairman), Salt Lake Police/Sheriff Honorary Colonels (Secretary/Treasurer), Utah Department of Human Services, State Board of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, and currently serves on the boards of The Edward G. Callister Foundation (Chairman), Economic Development Corporation of Utah (former Chairman) and (Ex-Officio), Grand Canyon Trust (Chairman), State of Utah Substance Abuse & Anti-Violence Coordinating Council (Governor’s Representative), Advisory Council Utah Addiction Center and University of Utah National Advisory Council, Pyramid Oil Co. and Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council.
Honors include Honorary Degree, Doctor of Laws, University of Utah; Alumni of the Year, College of Law, University of Utah; Weaver Award, College of Pharmacy, University of Utah and Utah Attorney General’s 2005 Cicero Award.
